(ECNS) -- The Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) tracked and monitored the USS Higgins and the Canadian warship respectively abiding by laws and regulations as they passed through the Taiwan Strait on Sunday, the command's spokesman Li Xi said.
The actions of the U.S. and Canada disturbed the situation and undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, said Li. Troops of the command have always been on high alert, resolutely defending national sovereignty and security and maintaining regional peace and stability, Li added. |
