Parents who have not yet registered their children for school are being encouraged to do so next week.
& k3 X9 O+ r, }$ P1 H/ Y7 R' FParents of children who'll be attending kindergarten at the Peel District School Board in the fall can register children for school from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at their neighbourhood school. Parents of high school students who need to register their teens are asked to call the school for registration details.2 n/ _# q/ l& N/ D% T2 i9 \
Parents must provide proof of age, proof of address in Peel and the child’s immunization and education records. In some cases, immigration documents may be needed.( E/ h( k/ H0 V9 K- e7 j
Acceptable registration documents are:
- L; ], c( a* _- t! s4 ]• birth certificate, birth registration card or passport for proof of age
d2 t& u+ W, S a F" r' \: L. e' s• purchase agreement, utility bills, bank statement or government-issued forms for proof of address }5 Q) D# N0 Y6 X' J6 h# p
• yellow card or record from last country of residence, or Peel health form for immunization proof" Z/ E8 } S4 G" n9 T1 t( ^* [
• citizenship documentation, permanent resident card, or record of landing (IMM5292) for immigration status6 _# U/ F3 Y9 [ H3 P, R* |
• recent report cards and/or school leaving certificate (secondary students only) for education records
* C" ?6 Q# Q8 \1 wFor general inquiries about immunization, the immunization schedule or to determine if a child’s record is up-to-date, parents can call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700. An exemption form can be obtained if a child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of a conflict of religion or conscience.
