Parents who have not yet registered their children for school are being encouraged to do so next week.- O5 \- s0 F. v( x6 ~" w
Parents of children who'll be attending kindergarten at the Peel District School Board in the fall can register children for school from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at their neighbourhood school. Parents of high school students who need to register their teens are asked to call the school for registration details.
1 A; h2 c8 X. w! B0 V( X8 aParents must provide proof of age, proof of address in Peel and the child’s immunization and education records. In some cases, immigration documents may be needed.
y' P! M, M* U* u6 kAcceptable registration documents are:
- y0 Q, N1 k2 j; y2 \% @+ T$ m$ j• birth certificate, birth registration card or passport for proof of age5 c7 y6 |( J }; R! D
• purchase agreement, utility bills, bank statement or government-issued forms for proof of address* |5 Z: \' i2 U# N" L
• yellow card or record from last country of residence, or Peel health form for immunization proof
# H ?$ }4 v6 ]6 Y• citizenship documentation, permanent resident card, or record of landing (IMM5292) for immigration status
* h2 Q9 Q; e2 A! J3 P5 r9 h6 L• recent report cards and/or school leaving certificate (secondary students only) for education records; |5 `' f7 R6 A' \9 \& {/ W: l
For general inquiries about immunization, the immunization schedule or to determine if a child’s record is up-to-date, parents can call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700. An exemption form can be obtained if a child has not been immunized for medical reasons or because of a conflict of religion or conscience.
