Some friends and family have gotten the full impact of it in the last
few hours, and I must say they are VERY patient.  By now, however,

I stopped at Office Depot today and bought a CanoScan LiDE 90
: i% y* b% ]3 m5 w' \9 ~scanner.  For months now I\'ve been wanting a simple scanner for my
$ e1 X9 r; h8 c5 R; w7 _) F$ K8 sslides and photos. Every other place I went to, like Wal*Mart and
* Q( y4 Z& u6 W$ h: p5 U* K2 FTarget, only sold the printer/copier/fax/scanner units.  I already own
; h0 u9 v0 V* a- j- i" tall of that except for the scanner and wasn\'t about to spend hundreds
of dollars for more than I need.

; n- {( h5 u2 [: VThis scanner costing under $80 does a great job on my photos, even the
3 s$ A; K' r, A* M/ s- cones of me as a baby.  My slides of astronomical art by Morris Scott
% ^" U7 j' U& w# DDollens come out okay even after collecting dust for decades.  I
- ]( j" k1 S7 F7 Z& ishould be kept busy for days scanning all the photos I\'ve saved over
0 O1 j( N: D/ ^  b* _1 ]the years in an old suitcase.  Now if I could only figure out who all
0 Y1 M" {2 i2 F( ythose people in really old photos are!
